VT

Visual Testing (VT)

Code-compliant direct and remote visual examination — the first-line inspection method.

Visual Testing (VT) is the first and most widely applied non-destructive testing method, used to assess surface condition, weld profile, corrosion and mechanical damage. It is carried out in accordance with defined lighting, access and acceptance criteria.

In addition to conventional VT, TESKO offers Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) with borescopes and, where conditions allow, drone-assisted visual inspection for the examination of tanks, stacks and hard-to-access or elevated structures.

Typical Applications

  • Weld profile and surface acceptance
  • Corrosion and coating condition surveys
  • Confined space, vessel and tank internals (RVI)
  • Elevated structure and stack drone survey

Why VT (Visual Testing)?

  • Fast, low-cost first-line screening
  • Remote access to confined / elevated assets
  • Documented photographic record
  • Directs where to apply deeper NDT
